About-Me

A very wise person told my husband and I to find a hobby that we would enjoy doing together when we had been married about 23 years and the kids were mid-college.

We have such a good time together as we search for new and unusual shots and as we compare, critique and admire what each has captured.

I shoot a Nikon D80 with my primary lens being the Nikor 18-200mm VR lens along with a Nikor 105mm macro lens. My man and I also have a Sigma 10-20mm super wide angle lens and for me (not so with my man!) that is primarily what I shoot with. Sweet and simple.

I really like Photo-Brush's "aged photo" look and Picassa's focal B&W and Sepia - especially on flowers. Have a Photoshop filter plug-in called "Nostalgia" that has become a favorite - looks great on kids shots! Some portraits are enhanced with Picassa's "glow" as I like how it softens the skin tones. I try my hand at some HDR and other techniques, but will need tons of experience to even come close to having something decent out of these photo editing adventures . . . but will keep trying.

The other half of this photography team and I are post 32 years and we plan to celebrate many more - the Lord willing - "grow old along with me, the best is yet to be . . ." - we are now empty nesters after the eldest moved downtown and an October, 2006 wedding.

A great joy in our lives is our first grandson! He is a treasure and Nonna & Pops love to have him over ----- we are blessed to be able to share in his rearing and most importantly, to lavish our love on him as we are honored to help his parents "train him up in the way he should go . . ." - there is much in store in our lives with this wee one . . .

So ---- it's not bad - not bad at all . . . find life friends - and capture it!
