Project Row Houses - Susan. The theme was (is) "Race and Class". The houses are not vertical and thus, the exact feel I wanted to maintain as that is how it is viewed when entering. She graciously went to the corner so her shadow and image would merge with the image of the art piece. These are her words:
. . . surrounded by beautiful Fichus trees partially painted white - the paint on the trees shifted the perspective for me. The trees became a metaphor for paradox, duality, bi-culturalism, borders, liminal states, self/other, and racial demarcation. They looked humanlike to me, with a gentleness and tolerance and capacity to "hold" or contain diversity, paradox and duality.
Project Row Houses - 3rd Ward. This gentleman kindly let me take his photo.
Just one more - you never know, it may be the best! Keep shooting and don't forget to look around the corner - the perfect capture may be right where you least expect it.

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
